Never put all your eggs in one basket...unless they're chocolate and it's my basket...!
So after 11 weeks of Friday night drop in swim sessions at Wolverton, this Friday 27th is our last sesh as we break for two weeks over Easter. You're a crazy, committed lot...seeping into 4 lanes now, I love, love, love, learning and swimming with you all!
We shall be back 8-9 pm on Friday 17th April.
Due to two price increases over the last 12 months, from The Wolverton Leisure Trust, the new price per coached drop in session will be £7 from April.
As you know, back in January we tried to entice you to join us for a dip at the heated 50 metre London Fields Lido. A few of you ventured up to London and were treated to an outdoor evening swim, like no other!
Then in frosty February we invited you to join us on a pilgrimage up to the stunning London Aquatics Centre (Olympic & Paralympic venue 2012). You had to see it to believe it. An iconic structure and an inspiring swimming experience. We were all in agreement that it should be on your list of 'must-swims'!
And now March. With the open water season practically upon us, we thought we'd don our wetsuits (if they still fit) and pop down to get acclimatised in the Wycombe Rye Lido, High Wycombe. Yes it's outside. Yes it's going to be very cold and yes it has limited opening hours right now. No it won't be busy!
We shall be taking the quickest of dips on Monday 30th March between 3.30-4.30 pm. See you there!
Keeping you in the LOOP...
Well Keith began 'studying' (he loves that :o( ) for his Level 2 Triathlon Coaching in January. Aiming to be done and dusted by this June. Phew. At least he can share the experience with Sheddie chum Ian Hanson...study buddies, on the same course together!
Our website and swim studio are in the process of having a nip and tuck...bare with us, business as usual!
Training is in full swing, like many of you, for our Jubilee 10 k swim, Ironman, and Keith's non wetsuit 10 mile swim down Lake Windermere!
We got through the Loch Gu Loch ballot to secure 2 team places for this inaugural event in September. Keith and John O'Reilly are teaming up as are me and Jan Strachan...and I also know that Sheddie 'sweethearts' Phil & Jo got in too!
Keith & Mike Weedon have been directing workshops in St.Albans. Keith will be whizzing up to bonny Scotland to direct one in April too.
Rebecca Addlington and Mark Foster had the privilege of sharing the stage with swimming & coaching legend Keith Lewis last weekend at the swim, bike, run expo in Manchester! Keith was up there coaching and speaking!
We get to hear a lot of what you are all up to this year and love it! Don't stop keeping us in the LOOP.
Have a great Easter swim, bike, running or gorging chocolate and hot cross buns!
Love Jane x
